February Expert Series: Bear Signs Snowshoe walk

2/10/2024

Saturday, February 10th
1 - 3 pm
Mad River Glen, Waitsfield

Picture
Join us for a guided snowshoe trek with a Mad River Glen naturalist as we learn about the ecology and wildlife that call Stark Mountain home!

While the trek will focus on bear signs and understanding bear hibernation, we'll learn more generally about the Green Mountain forest and all its inhabitants.

This event is hosted on Mad River Glen property, and through the support of the the Mad River Valley Rotary Club, we will be covering the entry cost for all participants.

If you need to rent snowshoes, Mad River Glen is offering our group a discounted price of $15 for half-day rentals. We'd like this to be accessible to everyone, so indicate in your RSVP if you need assistance in paying the rental cost as we have funds to help with that as well!

Please register below and reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

🐾 In February, we're exploring the intersection between human behavior and wildlife biology through our discussion of "Fuzz" by Mary Roach.

In this witty and fascinating read, we'll learn how humans are often the problem - and the solution in human-wildlife conflict as we hear from animal-attack forensics investigators, human-elephant conflict specialists, bear managers, and “danger tree” faller blasters. Join us!
